I Choose Praise – Psalm 146 & 147
By Samira Gast
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. (Psalm 146:1-2, ESV)
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. (Psalm 147:1-5, 11, ESV)
Samira Gast is a bargain hunter, lip gloss lover and coffee enthusiast. Since she was a little girl, coloring was one of her favorite activities. Now as an adult, she still gets to play with colors as an artist. Working as a calligrapher has allowed Samira to service clients from all over the world and in various walks of life: fashion icons to Olympians, brides to business owners. However, at the end of the day, what inspires her to be the most creative is God revealing Himself through nature, Scripture and what he is up to in her own life. Samira works alongside her supportive husband, who tries to keep her singing to a controlled level while they work.
